Here's the problem with most wellness content...

Most wellness content is noise.

Not because wellness content is bad.

But because it usually doesn't help people live differently.

To be honest, I'm totally guilty of this too - writing slop content that sounds good, but doesn't inspire real change.

Often, it sounds like:

"Eat clean."

"Exercise regularly."

"Stay consistent."

"Transform your life."

"Become your best self."

Fine.

But what does that actually mean?

Usually something simple:

Go to bed at the same time every night, and sleep 8 hours.

Eat whole natural foods created by God, like minimally processed meat, eggs, and fresh fruits and vegetables.

Take 8,000 steps daily.

Resistance train at home with bodyweight exercises, resistance bands, or adjustable dumbbells - at least 15 minutes 5 days a week.

Open your Bible every day and read at least 1 chapter.

Pray to God every day - praise him, acknowledge your sinfulness and need for him, offer supplications and thanksgiving, in the name and power of Jesus Christ.

But this is where most people lose the plot:

Instead of actually doing these things... they keep consuming health content while their life stays the same.

And that's not growth.

It's just distraction.

The modern wellness world is full of that kind of distraction.

More advice.

More hacks.

More noise.

More people talking about things they don't fully understand - or worse, just trying to push an agenda.

Meanwhile, the basic things that actually help are still sitting there, waiting to be done.

That's not useful.

That changes nothing.

And that's a big problem.

So, instead... stop consuming, and start doing.

The simplest starting point I teach is, "Sleep. Eat. Move.", which I've practically outlined above:

  1. Sleep 8 hours a night.
  2. Eat whole natural foods, protein first, focusing on 0.7 grams of protein per pound of your target body weight daily.
  3. Move (walk) 8,000 steps a day and resistance train for at least 15 minutes a day 5 days per week.

Now here is the next problem.

A lot of people already know what to do if they're honest with themselves (in fact, we've probably all tried these things before)...

They just don't do it for very long without quitting, because there's nobody there to help hold their feet to the fire.

That's why community matters.

And that's one reason I built the Dream Root Wellness Network.

Not to give people more noise.

To help them live this out with clarity, accountability, and support.

Scripture says: "As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another." -- Proverbs 27:17 BSB

So, don't wait to start doing the things you already know you should be doing.

And join the Dream Root Wellness Network to get the sharpening you need to keep doing the good work.

Rooted in Christ,

Jonathon

Hey Reader, You can’t fully show up for the work God has called you to do when your body is constantly working against you. That may sound blunt. But it’s true. When your energy is low… When your weight keeps creeping up… When your doctor keeps bringing up the same numbers… When you wake up tired, move through the day tired, and end the night frustrated with yourself again… It affects more than your body. It affects your patience. Your discipline. Your confidence. Your ability to serve. Your...

For too long, many of us as Christians have felt guilty for caring about our physical health. Like wanting more energy, losing weight, getting stronger, eating better, or finally feeling comfortable in our own body somehow makes us vain. So we push it down. We tell ourselves, “I should just focus on spiritual things.” We convince ourselves that as long as we’re serving, praying, showing up for church, and taking care of everyone else… Our physical health can wait. I used to think that too. I...

A lot of Christians genuinely want to honor God with their bodies… But most have never been taught how deeply the modern food industry is working against them. Because Big Food is not simply selling meals. It is selling cravings. Convenience. Confusion. And dependency. Ultra-processed foods are engineered to keep people coming back for more, often leaving them feeling tired, inflamed, hungry again an hour later, and frustrated that “eating better” never seems to stick. And the trap is not...
