Hello Reader, Dream Root Wellness failed before it became what it was supposed to be. And I don’t mean one campaign flopped. I built courses. Created coaching programs. Spent thousands of dollars advertising an online wellness community. Almost nobody joined. And the people who did barely participated. So I did what I tend to do when something isn’t working: I tinkered. Changed the structure. Reorganized the courses. Rewrote things. Moved pieces around. Surely the problem was the offer. Or the platform. Or the marketing. It wasn’t. The real problem was that I was building something without having the courage to clearly say what it was actually about. I believed Jesus was the way, the truth, and the life. But you wouldn’t have known that from most of Dream Root Wellness. Jesus showed up when I talked about spiritual health. Then we’d move into nutrition, exercise, mental health, or the body—and suddenly I sounded like every other wellness company. I told myself I was being strategic. “If I make this too Christian, people won’t want it.” “If I talk about Jesus too much, I’ll drive people away.” “Keep it broad. Introduce faith later.” There was one fairly obvious problem with that strategy: I was terrified of alienating customers I didn’t have. Nobody was buying anyway. And in trying to make the message acceptable to everyone, I’d stripped away the very thing that gave the mission its reason for existing. Eventually, I had to answer a much more basic question: Why should a Christian care about wellness in the first place? Not because having abs makes you righteous. Not because living to 100 is the goal of the Christian life. Not because perfect health can save you. It can’t. Jesus does. The answer is stewardship. “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God with your body.”
— 1 Corinthians 6:19–20, BSB
Your body matters because it belongs to God. So does your mind. Your heart. Your spirit. And that realization finally gave Dream Root Wellness a mission I could say plainly: Restore health and wellness within the Body of Christ as stewardship under Christ. But the lesson went beyond my business. Because we do the same thing with our health. We keep changing the details because telling the truth about the foundation is harder. You buy another supplement instead of fixing your sleep. You search for another diet instead of admitting you don’t consistently follow the one you already chose. You keep changing workouts when the real problem is that you stop training after two weeks. You look for better motivation when what you really need is accountability. You tell yourself you need more information when you already know the next thing you need to do. More information isn’t always the answer. Sometimes the answer is: Tell the truth about what isn’t working. That became one of the deepest lessons behind the Dream Root Wellness framework. Integrity. Wisdom. Discipline. Perseverance. Those became the Roots of Wellness because they were the things I kept discovering were missing in my own life. And after years of research, rebuilding, testing, failing, and refining, those ideas grew into the 19 Evergreens of Wellness. They’re not 19 hacks. They’re not another list of wellness trends to save and forget. They’re a framework for answering three questions: What does the evidence actually say? What does Scripture actually teach? And what should you actually do with that information? Because collecting knowledge was never the goal. Faithful action is. That’s also why I put the entire framework into one free resource: The Evergreens of Wellness Evidence & Scripture Guide. Inside, you’ll find all 19 practices, the research behind each one, where the evidence is strong or limited, the biblical principles that support them, practical action steps, and a 7-day tracker to help you actually put what you learn into practice. I don’t want this to become one more wellness guide you download, skim, and forget. I want it to help you identify what matters, tell the truth about what isn’t working, and take the next faithful step. Download the Evergreens of Wellness Evidence & Scripture Guide free here. After everything it took to get Dream Root Wellness to this point, the mission has become much simpler: Christ stays at the center. Truth matters more than comfort. Health isn’t salvation. Your life has been entrusted to you. Take care of it accordingly.

At one point, I wrote this prayer in my journal: “God, I know You have so much more for my life. Reveal to me the purpose You have for me.” And over time, the answer became pretty clear. Dream Root Wellness needed to serve Christians clearly. Jesus needed to stop being someone I mentioned when talking about spiritual health and become the foundation of everything I was building. I knew what needed to change. But knowing what God was calling me to do meant I actually had to do it. And that’s...
There was a point during my paramedic years when I weighed more than 240 pounds. And I remember looking in the mirror and barely recognizing the guy looking back at me. Now, I didn’t get there because I woke up one morning and decided to destroy my health. I was working ridiculous hours. A scheduled 12-hour shift could turn into 16, 18, sometimes close to 20 hours away from home. I had more than an hour of driving on each side of it. I’d stop at White Castle or Burger King because it was...
In high school, I had a 3.9 GPA. I had friends. I was involved in band. From the outside, my life looked like it was headed somewhere good. I was also deeply depressed and thinking about whether anybody would even notice if I were gone. Those two things existed at the same time. I was performing well while I was emotionally dying. Eventually, Christ rescued me. I surrendered my life to Jesus, the depression lifted, and the suicidal pull broke. I’m not going to water that story down. Jesus...
